AOMEI Backupper Standard 3.5 Review
Since everyone knows the importance of backup, there is no need to say that again. Are you looking for a powerful backup program to backup your data, entire partition or disk? Here is one for you. AOMEI Backupper Standard is powerful and free backup software for windows with straightforward and intuitive user interface. You can easily use it to backup and restore no matter you are a novice or professional user. It’s a perfect solution for someone looking for a system-level of backup plan, whether for home network or small business environment.
The main window has four tabs on the side, with each tab representing a single function of the program. They are backup, restore, clone and utility. There is also a Home tab which only contains a single button for creating a new backup job.
System Backup: Backup entire Windows system, including system files and all installed applications, to an image of the system partition without interrupting the system.
Disk Backup to back up all hard drives you have connected to the computer. It detects and backs up MBR disks, GPT disks, USB disks, and any other storage type of devices that can be recognized by Windows.
Partition Backup to just back up any partitions you have on the disk.
File Backup to back up files and folders to an image file.
File Sync to back up files through file sync, no image files involved.
You can set up a backup schedule to let the backups run automatically at a certain time on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. With the latest 3.5 version, it added event-triggered scheduling backups: automatically perform backup tasks in real-time based on user logon, user logoff, system startup and system shutdown. You won’t find this function in almost any other free backup software, really great. It also supports to choose a network mapped drive as the destination, and simultaneously choose multiple files on the network drive as the backup source.
System Restore to easily and quickly restore system partition from the backup image.
Completely recover the entire hard disk drive, partition or files and folders that are lost.
Universal Restore feature enables you to restore a backup image created on one computer to another computer with dissimilar hardware.
The clone tab has three options to let you directly make a copy of a disk, partition, or entire system to a new drive or new partition without going through the backup process. It’s much efficient when all you want is to make a copy of all the disks.
The Utilities tab includes a number of handy utilities that can be very useful.
Check image file to make sure the integrity of the image files consistent.
Create bootable media as a rescue tool to restore system drive in the event that Windows can no longer boot.
Explorer image to let you browse through the image file to see what files and data are being backed up and included in the backup image file.
Import or export configuration file to manage your backup tasks.
PXE Boot Tool to boot up client-side computers within LAN through the network booting using AOMEI Windows PE/Linux bootable ISO file or your own customized micro-system image from a server machine.
Overall, AOMEI Backupper Standard is an excellent and free backup program that provides much more than other free standard software. I like its simplicity and easy to follow user interface, as well as the thorough backup methods that cover virtually all areas you can think of. As all-in-one free software, it’s indeed a comprehensive data backup tool!
